What Happens After You Order Windows Online
By 24/7 WindowStore2 min read
Ordering windows online takes a few minutes. Getting them takes longer, because they're built for your openings rather than pulled off a shelf. That one fact explains most of what follows.
"Made to order," in plain English
Every window we sell is built to the size and configuration you chose. Because our products are custom made-to-order, all sales are final once we've processed your order, unless we tell you otherwise in writing. It's worth knowing that before you order rather than after, which is why we're saying it here and not only in the terms.
How long it takes
Standard lead times run from your final order confirmation:
- Mezzo replacement windows and doors: ready for pick-up 30 days after final order confirmation.
- 1700 and 1900 Series new construction windows and doors: ready for pick-up 60 to 70 days after final order confirmation.
Those are standard lead times. Your order confirmation includes an estimate for your specific order, and the lead time page always has the current standard figures. If time is of the essence, such as a contractor's schedule or a closing date, contact us before you place your order, not after.
If you need to change or cancel
Contact us as soon as you can and ask about your order's status. What's possible depends on where it is, and we'll walk you through your options for that stage.
Pick-up day
Right now, our custom windows and doors are available for pick-up only, from the location you chose during checkout. All windows and doors come wrapped individually. They're made available at a loading dock, and you're responsible for loading your vehicle. Once you've placed your order, you'll receive further details on the pick-up process. The delivery and pick-up page has the current version.
Plan for the size and number of units you ordered. A vehicle that fits one window doesn't necessarily fit twelve.
While you wait
- Read your order confirmation. The width and height on it are the outer dimension of the product, excluding any nailing flange.
- Share the lead time with whoever's installing. If a contractor is booked, their schedule and your pick-up date need to agree. Our installation overview shows what the job involves.
- Read the warranty. It's Alside's limited warranty, and both versions are on our warranty page.
- Line up help for pick-up day. Windows are easier to move with two people.
